NEW INTERFACE MAKES USING
THE ARTS MAP EASIER

THE SEARCH FUNCTIONS on The Arts Map's homepage have been redesigned to simplify the search process and enhance the experience of users of the map. There is now just one "search box." Two buttons allow the user to search by location or by name. In addition, the long list of check boxes which were a feature of the map in its earlier configuration now only appear when a user clicks on the "Search by Listing Category" or "Search by Media" buttons.

ABOUT "EVENTS SEARCH" OPTIONS
You can now use The Arts Map to search for events in your area or an area you are going to visit. You can search for events by date, by type of event, or by radius from a location of your choice. We believe this will be an increasingly popular feature of the map so if you have an Arts Map account, be sure to post your events. To add an event to the map log-in to your account and look for the "Add and Event" links just below the section called "My Primary Listing." Posting events is a free service of The Arts Map.

MAILING LIST FEATURE DESIGNED TO CONNECT
LISTERS AND CLIENTS

Users who click on map pins or access detail pages now have the option to ask to be added to a lister's mailing list. When they do this, the lister will receive an e-mail from The Arts Map with the request and any message the user may have included with his or her request. To make sure those e-mails are not blocked by spam filters, listers should add info@theartsmap.com to their approved e-mail sources.
!!! SCAM WARNINGS and ADVICE !!!

Ignore messages from:

1. aaronsny61@gmail.com who has contacted more than one artist on The Arts Map and about whom there are a number of scam reports on the internet

and

2. a recognized scam artist who calls himself Chase and uses a variety of e-mails including <chaseay.ay@gmail.com> has contacted at least one artist on The Arts Map.

If you receive a questionable message, copy the senders e-mail and do a google search for that e-mail. Often enough you will find reports if the sender is a known scammer.

ALL LISTINGS NOW FREE!
A MESSAGE FROM ROBIN & JONATHAN
.....ALL LISTINGS ON THE ARTS MAP ARE NOW FREE! When we first created The Arts Map, our primary intention was to enable new connections between artists, arts organizations, galleries, museums, art schools, art materials suppliers, and the general public. We also thought, at the time, that we might charge for listings as a way of supporting the project. As a result of our experience with this project, the concept of charging for listings has been permanently abandoned.
.....We are not yet sure how The Arts Map will survive in the future but we believe in the project and intend to find a way to insure its continuance.
.....Thank you for being part of The Arts Map community. The Arts Map is, and will always be, a work in progress. We welcome your suggestions. To send us your thoughts click here.

PLEASE HELP US SPREAD THE WORD
The Arts Map is like a baby learning to walk. It needs help until it can stand on its own. Please tell you friends and colleagues about The Arts Map. Be sure to tell them that listings on http://TheArtsMap.com/ are FREE and will remain free forever.
Thanks,
Robin Colodzin & Jonathan Talbot
